Due tastiere all’unisono.
Lo strumento è firmato, sul frontalino sopra la tastiera, Albertus Delin me fecit Tornaci 1768. A tutt’oggi conosciamo dieci strumenti di questo costruttore, di cui tre claviciteri – clavicembali “verticali” – due clavicembali e cinque spinette. Secondo Constant Pierre, Delin fu allievo di Dulcken, il più grande dei costruttori fiamminghi del XVIII secolo e il timbro unico di questo strumento ne testimonia senza dubbio l’appartenenza alla stessa tradizione costruttiva. Tutti gli strumenti di Delin sono ad un manuale. I due grandi clavicembali da concerto che noi conosciamo (il secondo si trova all’Instrumentenmuseum di Berlino) hanno dunque un sola tastiera, con due registri di otto piedi e sono privi del registro di quattro piedi..

The harpsichord is signed on the bar above the keyboard, Albertus Delin me fecit Tornaci 1768.
We know of ten instruments by this builder, of which 3 clavicitheria, 2 harpsichords and 5 spinets. According to Constant Pierre, Delis was undoubtedly a pupil of Dulcken, the geatest of the 18th century Flemish builders; Delin is part the same tradition, witness the unique timbre of the instrument presented here.
All Delin’s instruments have only one manual. The two large concert harpsichords we know of (the second is to be found in the Instrumentenmuseum in Berlin) have thus a single keyboard, with the two 8 foot registers tuned in unison and no 4 foot.
